Ruby Jam 2026/10 月場

(English Version Below)

🏇 AI Harness Evolution. Even More Everyday Productivity 🏇

Aleks is a seasoned Rubyist who has spent recent years bringing AI agents into day-to-day Rails development. Using real Ruby/Rails projects, he'll walk through the workflow he has refined over time:

  • One worktree per area of the codebase, not per task: each agent keeps long-lived context on its own domain, and agents talk to each other.
  • Let the agent work while you're away: come back to a screencast showing what it did.
  • PR stacks for faster reviews: break large changes into small PRs that can be reviewed in order, with GitHub-native Mermaid diagrams to explain the architecture.

Ruby Jam: A Monthly Meetup for the Ruby Programming Language in Taiwan 💎

Ruby Jam is a monthly technical meetup that provides a platform for the Ruby community to connect, learn, and grow.

Featured Theme

🚂 Hotwire Native Field Notes: The Real Challenge Starts After Hello World 🚂

Hotwire Native lets Rails developers ship iOS and Android apps from an existing website without learning React Native or Flutter. But most tutorials stop at "load a webpage in a WebView" — actually building an app that feels usable surfaces a whole set of problems the tutorials never cover: how Bridge Components turn a webview's hamburger menu into a native menu, what else you can do with the native header, and how each tab under a Tab Bar manages its own navigation stack, among other things.

This talk walks through my real experience implementing Hotwire Native in a Rails project — the gap between "following a tutorial to get a working shell" and "building an app with a complete, navigable experience," and the details and pitfalls I had to fill in along the way. I'll also share the real technical conflicts I ran into — and how I resolved them — as a Rails developer crossing into the native iOS world (Swift / SwiftUI). This talk is for Rails developers curious about Hotwire Native who want to go deeper into the implementation details.

Speaker

Enya

Hello! I’m Enya, building full-stack web apps with Rails. Definitely on the introverted side and a bit shy to initiate, but always thrilled when someone comes over to say hello! I recharge by watching K-dramas and playing badminton. Feel free to come by and chat about Rails, show recommendations, or sports!
